Tanjung kunyit is a fishing village inhabited by only a few heads of families.

The majority of Tanjung Kunyit Island is inhabited by the Mandar and Bugis tribes, who live a very simple life.

In fact, there is only one elementary school on the island, the condition of which is also quite worrying, while for secondary school, residents of Tanjung Kunyit Island usually send their children to school in Tamiang Bay by boat.

Being there will make you truly feel at peace, far from the hustle and bustle and pollution like in a big city. Before visiting Tanjung Kunyit Island, it's a good idea to learn some Bugis or Mandarese, because not many people there can speak Indonesian.

Because many people still don't know that there is a place on the beach in Kotabaru that can be used as a diving area , the coral reefs in the Tanjung Kunyit sea are still very good and have not been polluted.

Tanjung Kunyit Island is a tourist spot that can be said to be 'all in one', because there you can also enjoy the green views of the hills.

To enjoy the charm of Tanjung Kunyit Island more fully, you can climb to one of the hilltops, which also houses a lighthouse, with a climbing time of around 30 minutes.

The best time to climb the hill is in the afternoon, when the weather is not too hot, and you can see the charm of the sunrise from the top of the lighthouse, which is guarded by 2 to 3 officers. No need to be afraid, to get to the top of the lighthouse you just need permission from the officer.

Apart from having a row of charming beaches and hills, Tanjung Kunyit Island also has an underwater park that is no less beautiful.

You can rent snorkeling equipment to enjoy the beauty of the underwater park on Tanjung Kunyit Island.

However, you need to pay attention, many snorkeling spots are in shallow water, and you are prohibited from stepping on these beautiful corals. The large number of snorkeling spots in shallow areas can also cause your feet to get injured by being scratched by coral rocks.
